Future Musik UK 7/2007

This is a great DVD. Not only are the sounds top quality, theyre in every
format you might need (acidized/wave, Rex2, NN-XT, soundfont, Halion and
even one shots of every loop on the DVD) Crisp claps, bangin' beats and
vinyl scratches had me playing around with this for hours. Perfect use
for everything from
House to traditional Dancehall style. Great variation, a lot of fun and
serious usability. Review: Dancehall Vibes Vol.1 Future Music, UK, Sept

HOT AS JERK, SMOOTH AS RUM

In the midst of receiving literally hundreds of hip-hop libraries covering
styles from coast to coast to coast, one can easily get bored with all
the ‘sameness’.So, taking a virtual plane ride to the Caribbean via 30 of
the hottest Jamaican dancehall construction kits (95-119 bpm) was just the
break I’d been looking for. Inspired by the sounds of along the lines of
Shaggy, Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Elefant Man, Mr. Vegas, Nina Sky and others,
the 2.2 GB of kits are supplied on DVD in both REX2 and Acidized-WAV format.
A folder of single hits is provided for each construction kit, allowing you
to augment a groove or build one from scratch; mapped drum kits made from
these sounds are also provided in NN-XT, Halion and Soundfont patch formats.

Construction loops are four to eight – sometimes sixteen – bars long, and
include minor variations along the way that are generally excellent for
mapping out verses, choruses and bridges.Melodic instrumentation is kept
fairly minimal; In fact, bass lines are rarely provided, instead leaving
the club-heavy grooves to build around the kick and low-end percussion. But,
when melodic phrases are provided, they’re both sonically and musically very
inspiring.I love the jangly acoustic and groovy electric guitars, towing the
line between early reggae and, at times, more refreshing Brit or SoCal ska.
Real, ethnic/world instruments, horns and strings are played with truly
impressive chops, and there are even loops of club-synths, DJ scratches and
very cool effect drops, all time-sequenced
and ready to roll.Provided in both full and grouped stems for mixing, the
drum parts are absolutely bangin’, many with stompin’ club-oriented hip-hop
beats featuring monster kicks and crackin’ snares and claps, while others
sport a more intricate ‘sweet-and-spicy’ rhythmic identity. The makings of
summertime
