    明導國際(Mentor Graphic)推出兩套印刷電路板設計解決驗證工具，分別為
    Tau 2.4及ICX 2.5，Tau2.4是Mentor Graphics的電路板階層時序驗證工具，
    而ICX2.5則是一套連線合成設計與驗證環境。 

    為滿足高速電路板設計的市場需求，透過兩套工具的搭配運用，提供更簡單
    的操作以更強大的分析功能，Mentor表示，對於Expedition使用者來說，透
    過Expedition PCB與ICX的整合以及DesignView環境與Tau的整合，Expedition 
    Series的最新版本WG2000.5，可允許工程人員利用ICX與Tau來執行訊號完整
    性的分析與驗證。 

    Mentor Graphics系統設計部門總經理及副總裁Henry Potts表示，印刷電路
    板設計人員必須面對兩項重大挑戰，一是設計的複雜性不斷增加，一是最終
    產品的體積必須不斷縮小。舉例來說，普通行動電話的印刷電路板面積約等
    於一張名片，但所包含的零件數目卻可能高達500顆。這些因素讓訊號完整性
    與時序問題變得更重要，也使得設計人員需要更強大的時序驗證與分析工具。 

    ICX把設計的電氣與實體功能結合在一起，並提供一個整合環境，使工程人員
    在電路佈局時，也能執行訊完整性分析，ICX 2.5新加的模擬控制功能及自耦
    合（self-coupling）分析，讓分析過程有更大的彈性也可提高分析結果的精
    確性，並可支援先進電路拓樸的定義與繞線，讓使用者在電路設計的實作階段
    有更多方法解決訊號完整性與時序問題。 

     ICX 2.5 is the Advanced interconnect synthesis design and verification 
     environment of Mentor Graphics.

     ICX combines the electrical and physical aspects of the design, providing
     an integrated environment for signal integrity analysis during layout. 
     ICX 2.5 features additional simulation controls to provide users with 
     greater flexibility during analysis. Expanded analysis capabilities, 
     such as self-coupling, have been added for even greater accuracy. The
     new version also includes support for definition and routing of advanced
     topologies to allow users more options when solving signal integrity and
     timing problems during the physical implementation of the design.
